Year 9 girls crash out of the quarters!
The year 9 girls have sadly crashed out of the Wolverhampton City cup with the only goal coming in the last 30 seconds of the match! We had ample opportunities to win the game but sadly couldn’t convert! After SWBA had scored with 20 seconds left, Elexus went on a crazy run nearly scoring to bring the scores level!
I am so pleased with the progress this group has made over the year and they have all come on loads – some of them are even starting/looking to join teams outside of school, which is just fantastic!
They are very gutted that they couldn’t get us through to the semi-finals, but they have done us proud!

Year 8 come from behind to clinch victory!
Monday also saw Year 8 take on St Chads in a league game. The game started and we were under pressure straight away, with one Year 8 St Chads player dominating the game. St Chads had two chances and scored from both, taking us into half time 2-0 down.
After a team talk at half time where no player dropped their heads we went back out. Mebest made it 2-1 with a goal right on the goal line. Ceejae then made it 2-2 with a very tidy finish after some good midfield play. With 5 minutes to go Mebest found himself through on goal and slotted away the 3rd goal to see us through with the win.
All the boys involved did the school proud and showcased their talent well - this takes them one step closer to winning the league.

Man of the match: Mebest. Thanks to Mr Mincher (for managing the year 8 team tonight) and Mr Craig (for Refereeing) for allowing the year 8 fixture to go ahead! – top work with the Win!!
Year 10 lose to OLSC
Tonight saw our Year 10 group come up against OLSC. Sadly, we came away with a 5-1 defeat! If only we could defend corners – 4 goals coming in the second half!
Until half time we matched them and should have been in the lead. In our previous meeting earlier in the year we lost 8-0. So to match them for as long as we did showed improvement. The group played their hearts out, putting their bodies on the line and the effort for our school was fantastic! Kallum was the goal scorer for us who also bossed the midfield. Player of the match – Adam, he was a lion at the back!
