This week students in year 8 have been visited by Dee from The Homeless Period Wolverhampton. The Homeless Period is a charity that distributes menstrual products to those experiencing period poverty, delivers menstruation workshops to schools and community groups, works with universities to deliver robust research and campaigns tirelessly to end Period Poverty! The workshops were engaging and informative involving both boys and girls as education and respect was a key feature of the day.
Student reflections:
“It was good, I learnt about things I didn’t actually know”
“I now feel educated about this issue and the effects”
“It was educational for people who didn’t know about Period poverty”
“Everyone in school should have that session”
